Who we are

Lifting & Safety LTD operates this website from Anchor Test Works, Poplar Street, Leigh, Greater Manchester, WN7 4HL. Contact us on 01942 606088 or through our contact page.

We are responsible for the personal information we collect through lifting-safety.co.uk. This notice explains how we handle website visits and enquiries.

Information we collect

Our contact form asks for your name, email address and enquiry, with an optional company name. If you use the equipment enquiry tool, it may also ask for a telephone number and details of the equipment you are interested in. We receive information you choose to give us by telephone or email. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in your message.

Our hosting and security services may record technical information such as IP address, browser details, pages requested and access times to deliver the site, investigate faults and prevent misuse.

Why we use your information

We use enquiry details to respond, discuss your requirements and prepare quotations. Where you are asking us to enter into a contract with you personally, this processing is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract. For business enquiries made on behalf of an organisation, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to customers and managing business communications.

We rely on our legitimate interests to maintain a secure, working website and deal with misuse. Where a legal requirement applies to business records, we rely on legal obligation. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. Providing enquiry details is voluntary, but we need enough information to answer you.

Who receives your information

Our team and providers of website hosting, email delivery, maintenance, backups and security may process information as needed to support the website and handle enquiries. We may also disclose relevant information where required by law. Contact-form enquiries are sent by email; copies can therefore be held in the receiving mailbox and its backups.

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies and similar browser storage support website functions. WordPress uses cookies for signed-in sessions. WooCommerce can use cart and session cookies when its shopping features are used. The equipment enquiry tool may remember your selected items in your browser.

WooCommerce order-attribution tracking is currently enabled. Its browser cookies can record how a visit began and which pages were visited, including referring sources and campaign information. WooCommerce usage tracking is also enabled, and the site loads an Automattic tracking script. See WooCommerce cookie information and Automattic’s privacy policy.

You can review, delete or block cookies and site storage in your browser. Blocking functional storage may affect features such as enquiry selections or shopping sessions. Browser controls do not change information you have already sent to us.

Google Maps, fonts and external services

The contact page contains an embedded Google map, and the site uses Google-hosted fonts. Loading these features sends information such as your IP address and browser details to Google. The map may use cookies or recognise an existing Google session. Google may process information outside the UK; its privacy policy explains its purposes, retention and international-transfer arrangements.

Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.

How long we keep information

We retain enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, manage relevant follow-up and resolve related issues. Where an enquiry becomes a customer relationship, record-keeping needs include ongoing service, certification, accounting and applicable legal obligations. Security information is retained according to operational and investigation needs. Retention depends on those purposes and any applicable legal requirements; you can contact us about the records relating to your enquiry.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy. These rights have conditions and exemptions, including where records must be kept by law.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us using the details above to make a request or raise a privacy concern. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), telephone 0303 123 1113, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

Updates

We may update this notice when the website or our handling of information changes. The date above shows when this version was updated.
